Description

Come. Sit. Listen to my terrible tale. The bell rang in our village church one cold and starless night. It rang as an executioner announcing judgment, a sound heralding the coming of something most abhorrent.

The abhorrent thing coiled its great body about the befogged tower. As though called by it, villagers leaned out their windows and began a melancholy howling. Soon, a lone man appeared out of the darkness.

The man raised his crook at the abhorrent thing, and in paroxysms of agony it writhed. The groaning villagers melted into writhing tentacles, the hanging mist was stained crimson, and the bell tower shattered.

This I looked upon, but from where did I make my witness? A dream? No, not a dream. Soon, my disquieted ears heard a most terrible, abhorrent sound: "Aaah... My naaaaame is..."

Aha! That's it! Upon that eve was I one of His tentacles, and that abhorrent voice I heard issued forth from my own mouth! "I am the Whisperer in the Dark. Be united unto me, and go with my blessing!"
